Geographical Mayhem in Pacific

While on secondment to the 7th US Virtual Air Force in the Pacific theatre, two pilots on photographic reconnaisance spotted unusual volcanic activity. PO R. Stornaway and Sgt D. Eisteddfod were flying Hurricane MkIIc(R)s of VI Sqdn RVAF when the incident occurred. Their full report is still confidential, but the following photographs have been declassified.

The three pictures above were 'acquired' from the USVAF high altitude photo/recon division. They show the land mass moving west, and then north as it developed. The photographs were taken over a period of about 4 hours.
The RVAF photographs coincide with the second in this series. Note the reorganization of beach and cliffs as the island migrates.
